If the gym environment is not for you or you are looking for a variety in your weekly training schedule. Then why not try one of our fitness walking classes, Nordic and Power walking classes.
Nordic and Power walking classes are an excellent way of meeting fellow exercisers, keeping you motivated and most of all having fun whilst increasing your fitness levels. Both classes provide friendship, fun, motivation and fresh air in the beautiful surroundings of Pinewood Park Leisure Club.
Nordic walking originated from Finland in the early 1930s as an off season training method used by competitive cross country skiers and today is one of the fastest growing recreational fitness sports in the world. It is fitness walking with specially designed Nordic walking poles and offers a very efficient, aerobic and easy way to improve one s physical condition. It can be considered a total body workout and for anyone with restriction or complaints of the spine, hip joints, knees or ankle, Nordic walking provides relief - due to extra stability that the poles offer. It also increases mobility and muscular endurance in the upper muscles - eliminating muscular tension in the neck and shoulders. With Nordic walking you can burn up to 40% more calories in comparison to normal walking making it an effective means of exercise for weight loss.

Circuit Training takes place every fortnight at Pinewood Park Leisure Club in the expansive, recently extended function room.
A fun, friendly class circuit training is suitable for all ages and abilities and is run by a fully qualified personal trainer.
It is a highly versatile and adaptive form of training that requires participants to perform a series of carefully selected exercises, in order that a circuit is completed.
A circuit will usually contain both strength and endurance/aerobic exercises, containing the benefits of both a cardiovascular and strength workout.
Pinewoods is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty. A great variety of woodland, heath land, bridleways and beaches are all accessible on two wheels. Small supervised groups leave the club on Sunday mornings at 8:00am and 10:00am returning after approximately 1 ½ hours. The groups are led by qualified mountain bike instructors with extensive knowledge of the area. Our instructors will also be able to give tips on riding techniques and suitable bikes and equipment. If you are new to this fun way of keeping fit we can lend you a bike, gloves and helmet to get you started. Cycles can be safely left at Pinewoods between sessions, which also gives us the opportunity to carry out minor maintenance on your cycle so you are ready to go next time.
Whether you are new to the area or have lived here all your life you can be assured of seeing the hidden treasures of North Norfolk. Where else could you see ancient woodland, beaches, heath land, stately homes, steam trains, fantastic scenery and even a castle in just one bike ride? Open to all levels of fitness but please contact Pinewoods if you are thinking of taking part so we can advise you on which group is more suitable for you and discuss availability of places. We sometimes stop for a coffee/tea so some loose change, may also be a good idea.

Working with Kelling Hospitals Phase III cardiac rehab team and with links to Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital. Pinewood Park has been successfully attracting (Phase III) cardiac rehabilitation patients since 2003.
Using a combination of suitable exercises with the right motivation and guidance our aim is to help people to get on with their lives following heart problems.
To assist us with this we have access to heart rate monitoring/blood pressure testing and specific 1st aid equipment to enable us to supervise you in the most appropriate and safe environment.
